المستخلص

This paper examines the increasing influence of right-wing extremism and populism in Europe, as clearly demonstrated in the 2017 and 2019 elections. It explores the societal factors contributing to this rise, particularly the public's reaction to the increasing immigration from conflict regions such as the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Many European citizens see a connection between immigration and decreasing employment opportunities, which drives them to support populist parties. The paper also analyzes Klaus Oppitz’s novel Landuntergang (2016), which provides a literary depiction of the spread of populist and extremist ideologies in a fictional future society. This study offers insights into the sociopolitical environment and cultural narratives surrounding right-wing populism in contemporary Europe.
