Guide for Authors

  • Submission of a paper implies that it has not been published before or simultaneously submitted anywhere else.

  • Papers submitted must address an original topic and be written according to the rules of academic writing.

  • The objectives of the paper submitted and its contribution must be made clear.

  • Research ethics must be taken into consideration. These include, but are not limited to: a) reporting data, results, methods, and procedures honestly, b) respecting intellectual property (patents, copyrights, etc.), c) protecting confidential information (including consent forms used in research, if any), d) avoiding plagiarism in all its forms and e) clarifying any conflict of interest.

  • A 300-word abstract (in the same language of the paper submitted) must be attached along with no more than 6 keywords.

  • The researcher's name, title, workplace, and correspondence address are to be completely removed from the paper. This info must be sent separately along with the paper, in the body of the email message or a separate document.

  • If the paper includes transliteration of sounds of Non-Roman languages, excluding the list of references, the Library of Congress Romanization schemes are to be followed. A full list of these schemes is available at https://www.loc.gov/catdir/cpso/roman.html. The Romanization of Arabic sounds is available at https://www.loc.gov/catdir/cpso/romanization/arabic. pdf. However, if the researcher has a valid reason for using a different scheme of transliteration, he/she should clarify this in a footnote or endnote.

  • Font types: These fonts are to be used: Traditional Arabic in papers in Arabic, Times New Roman in Roman-language papers, and SimSun in papers in Chinese.

  • Font sizes: Title (14, bold); subheadings (12, bold); text including the abstract (12); tables and graphs (11); footnotes, endnotes, and references (10).

  • The conventions of the American Psychological Association (APA) guide (6th edition) are to be followed in documenting in-text citations and the list of references. You can refer to the APA guide at https://apastyle.apa.org or the official blog (to ask for guidance from specialists) at https://apastyle.apa.org/blog/. We recommend this website (in English) http://bit.ly/APA_explained or this one https://bit.ly/2sP7Bdp (in Arabic) just in case you need to read about the APA style sheet and/or see examples of references documented according to the rules of APA.
